The WebQuest Page

WebQuest is an inquiry-oriented activity in which most or all of the information used by learners is drawn from the Web. WebQuests are designed to use learners' time to focus on using information rather than looking for it, and to support learners' thinking at the levels of analysis, synthesis and evaluation. 


Children's Literature Guide 

There are many links to Internet resources about Books for Children and Young Adults. Links to online stories, best books lists, best sellers, book publishers, poetry and a special section for teachers and parents make this a valuable site for educators.

The Education Place

Presented by Houghton Mifflin this K-8 site has resources for elementary-school teachers, students, and parents. Includes Reading/Language Arts, Math, Science, and Social Studies Centers, Intervention, Professional Development, searchable activity database, educational games, and textbook support.


Starchild Project 

The Starchild Project is a resource about the solar system especially designed for the elementary school aged child. Level one and two versions are available, for early and later elementary students, with all kinds of information and other links about the solar system.

Kathy Schrock's Guide for Educators is a categorized list of sites useful for enhancing curriculum and professional growth. It is updated often to include the best sites for teaching and learning.


MECC 

MECC supports and supplies Internet field trips, student and teacher resources, and even information on teacher freebees. The MECC Inter@ctive Explorer Series are interdisciplinary Internet-based programs designed for grades 4-9. Join a team of archeologists to Mexico to discover what happened to the Mayan civilization. 


The Oregon Trail 

The Oregon Trail provides interesting background information about the travelers of this historic journey and the obstacles they encountered. There are even actual diary entries and It provides a wonderful supplement to the program of the same name. 

Smithsonian Center for Education

Presesnted by the Smithsonian Center for Education and Museum Studies. This site has virtual field trips, a media catalog, lesson plans, and a resource bank.


Classroom Connect 

This is the online site for the popular educational internet publication and provides lesson plans, research information, contact with educators and schools on the web, the best of K-12 links, search engines and Cu-SeeMe connections.


SuperKids

Superkids is a publication that reviews and critiques educational software. Children's software reviews based on objective analyses by parents, teachers and kids.
