The state of Hawaii was the 50th state added to the Union. It is made up of a series of islands found in the Pacific Ocean. While the islands are known for their beautiful beaches and pleasant temperatures, the real marvel is what is located under the water. Where did the islands come from? Are they just floating around the Pacific? How were they formed? Your project for Hawaii is to answer these question. Using the links below (and any other resources you wish) make a poster explaining how the Hawaiian Islands were formed. Begin by reading and gathering information. You may design the poster using any format you wish. It is a good idea to sketch out what you want the final poster to look like on a scrap piece of paper before you begin. Remember to use color to help tell the story. Be sure to include a title and your name. Hand in the poster when you are done.
