In Richard Peck's A Long Way
From Chicago, Joey and his sister Mary Alice travel to Grandma
Dowdel's for a week each summer. The adventures the three share bring
them closer with each passing year. There are two choices for your
project for this book. Choice One- Write a story about an
adventure you had with your grandparents. It can be about going to
visit them, sharing Thanksgiving dinner with them, or any other tale
that you wish to tell. Be sure to proofread your story. Before you hand
the story in to your teacher, take the time to share it with the people
you wrote it about. They will love hearing what you wrote. Choice Two- Write a letter to your grandparents. Remember that proper grammar and accurate spelling are still important. You are only responsible for writing a single letter for the project, but I encourage you to write more. To receive credit for the project, hand in a copy of the letter to your teacher. |
